Request for Expressions of Interest

EGYPT

Credit No. 3076

The Government of Egypt has received a credit from the International
Development Association in the amount of USD 90,000,000 equivalent
toward the cost of the Health Sector Reform Project, and it intends to
apply the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for
Implementation of Master Plan in Menofia Governorate.

The project will support (a) the provision of universal access to a
basic package of Primary Health Care (PHC) services; and (b) reform of
the Health Insurance Organization (HIO).

The Ministry of Health and Population now invites eligible consultants
to indicate their interest in providing the following services:

- Engineering Consulting Services (Consultative engineering and
construction services)
- design of construction of health facilities in Menofia
Governorate (Engineering design services for the construction of
civil engineering works)
- supervision of construction of health facilities in Menofia
Governorate (Construction supervision services)

The services will include design of new health facilities, demolition,
rebuilding and remodeling of existing facilities according to standard
guidelines and Master plan. Also the scope of consultancy will include
evaluation of selected sites, surveys, soil investigation, demolition
reports, preliminary and detailed designs, and bidding documents for
all facilities. The consultants will assist MOHP in the selection of
appropriate contractors and will supervise the construction process
until complete handover of the sites to the MOH.

Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they
are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of
similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of
appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to
enhance their qualifications. Consultants will be selected in
accordance with the procedures set out in the |World Bank| Selection
and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers[1].

Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address
below from 09:00 to 17:00. Expressions of interest must be delivered
to the address below by 17:00 on 18 October 2002.
