SS07282008A Sources Sought - AV Installation for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee Broadcast Hearing Room Modernization Program PURPOSE: This SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS is not a solicitation, request for proposal, request for quote or invitation for bid; it is a market research tool. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis. Any responses submitted are strictly voluntary. The U.S. House of Representative (House) will not pay for any information that is submitted by respondents to this request and any information submitted will belong to House. INTRODUCTION: This sources sought request is for the procurement, installation, and test of audio/video (AV) for Committee hearing rooms. To be considered qualified for this effort, potential sources must demonstrate detailed knowledge and experience in each of the following areas: 1. Vendor shall have audio systems installation experience to include: a.CobraNet audio networks and CobraNet-enabled devices, b.Peavey MediaMatrix MWare and Nware, c.the use of steerable loudspeakers/arrays, d.amplifier control and monitoring, and e.proper installation and testing procedures for audio systems cabling. 2. AV system installation experience including: a.use of various display technologies (projection, flat screen monitors, etc.), b.broadcast quality camera systems, c."virtual monitor wall" configuration for production displays, d.Serial digital interface (SDI) signal distribution, e.video over twisted pair, and f.proper installation and testing procedures for AV system cabling. 3.Ethernet network installation experience which includes: a.use of an Ethernet network work for audio and control signal distribution, b.proper installation and testing procedures for Category 6 cable, c.proper installation and testing procedures for fiber optic cable, d.network management and control using simple network management protocol (SNMP), and e.network troubleshooting. 4.Control systems installation experience including: a.general AMX/Crestron system programming, and b.customized AMX programming to allow control of non-standard devices via AMX/Crestron 5.Experience with "speaker timer" system integration e.g. D'San 6.Experience integrating all of the above disciplines into a single cohesive system. 7.Certification and/or membership in professional audio/video organizations such as AES, NAB, NSCA, ICIA or SynAudCon.
