AEC intends to contract with a single entity Service Provider who will be a prime contractor in respect of a Services Contract for the following services:

a)  audits including compliance, operational, information technology (IT);

b) financial statements support;

c) probity audits;

d) risk management policy development, administration, review and advice;

e) fraud prevention services, including investigation of potential frauds (other than electoral frauds), training, liaison, advice and policy development with respect to fraud control;

f) assistance in the development of annual Strategic Audit Plans and audit work plans;

g) reports on the delivery of services provided under the contract; and

h) provision of ad hoc advice to AEC staff on compliance, control, procedures and other audit and evaluation-related topics.

Work will be mostly undertaken in the AEC's National Office, Canberra.  Some work will be undertaken in State or Divisional offices interstate.

The AEC expects the successful provider to commence work on 1 Novemeber 2008 for a period of 3 years.  Where agreed the AEC may offer an extension to the contract for three additional years.
