7. Contract description: The contract covers the development and
implementation of quality standards and a certification system to improve
marketability of locally produced crops, poultry, meat and fish products
including:
(i) development of draft standards and codes of practice for the
production, processing, marketing, handling and transportation;
(ii) examination of the policy, legal and institutional frameworks for
enforcement of relevant standards;
(iii) preparation of an action plan for implementation;
(iv) development of training modules and manuals;
(v) design and establishment of a product certification system; and
(vi) training of handlers, inspectors and auditors.
8. Indicative budget: EUR 616 000.
