Invitation for Bids

The Government of the Republic of Rwanda has received a credit from
the Asian Development Fund toward the cost of the Project for the
Rehabilitation of Secondary Schools and to ISAE, and it intends to
apply the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for
Supply of Furniture to Secondary Schools and to ISAE- Busogo. Bidding
for contracts financed by the Asian Development Fund will be governed
by the procurement rules specified in the African Development Bank
Rules of Procedure for Procurement of Goods and Works[1]. It is open
to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the
guidelines.

The project tends to the rehabilitation of the Secondary Schools and
to ISAE.

Le National Tender Board (NTB). now invites sealed bids from eligible
bidders for the following lot:

- supply of furniture to Secondary Schools and to ISAE- Busogo
(School furniture)

International or Domestic Bidders may benefit from a fifteen (15)
percent margin of preference and ten (10) per cent respectively at the
time of bid evaluation.

Bidding is allowed for the whole lot only.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and
inspect the bidding documents at le National Tender Board (NTB). at
the address below. A complete set of bidding documents in English may
be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written
application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable
fee of RWF 20000. or One Hundred (100) US$ or their equivalent in any
convertible currency for Foreign Companies. The method of payment will
be: a prepaid bank slip paid to the account N° 110.00.00 of “Monsieur
l’Ordonnateur Trésorier du Rwanda” opened at the “Banque Nationale du
Rwanda” B.P. 513; Tel: (250) 74282; Fax: (250) 72551. The document
will be sent by mail or directly collected.

Bids must be delivered to the address below by 09:00 on 30 August
2002. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security equivalent to 3%
of the bid price. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in
the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the
address below on 30 August 2002 at 10:00.
