Provide complete A/E Services to prepare specifications, preliminary design options, preliminary drawings, develop the design, and prepare final construction documents including cost estimate. A/E will also provide construction period services for project 679-308 NHCU Improvements at the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, 3701 Loop Road E, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The scope of work for this project is for the A/E team, including architects, engineers, CIH, and a professional consultant to conduct site visits, meetings with staff, and field investigations to determine existing conditions of Building 61 structure and develop construction documents for renovations/building addition at VAMC Tuscaloosa. Team to study, investigate, and evaluate all building components/aspects (i.e. electrical, plumbing, mechanical, structural, space planning, etc.) as well as patient flow and treatment. The A/E team will develop three floor layout options from which the VA will choose the best option. Once an option is chosen the A/E will complete all design work to renovate the space. This project is to make our Nursing Home Care Unit project a home like environment for our veteran patients. This announcement is full and open to all A/E firms that are located within a 150 mile radius of Tuscaloosa, Alabama as determined by using the latest version of Rand McNally Road Atlas. The A/E firm will be evaluated with the following criteria: Factor number (1) is most important with factor number (2, 3, 5) equal to each other but somewhat less, important than factor number (1). Factor (4) is less important than (1, 2, 3, 5) but more important than factor (6), which is of least importance. The following are the rating factors. (1) Specialized Experience and Technical Competence, (2) Specific Experience and Qualifications of Personnel Proposed, (3) Professional Capacity of the Firm in the Designated Geographic Area, (4) Past Record of Performance on Contracts with Government Agencies, (5) Geographic Location and Facilities of the Working Office, (6) Point Adjustment for Existing Design Work, and Existing Construction Period Services. Firms desiring consideration must submit their SF-330 Architect Engineer Qualifications by COB (4:00 PM local time) March 14, 2008 directly to: VA Medical Center Attn: Paul Weathersby (10N7/NLO), 3701 Loop Road East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, 35404. The SF-330 can be downloaded through the GSA Forms Library at: http://www.gsa.gov/Portal/gsa/ep/formslibrary.do , type in 330 in the Find A Form block and click on search. A/E firms must be located within a 150 mile radius of Tuscaloosa, Alabama to be considered. The estimated construction cost is between 5,000,000.00 and 10,000,000.00. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 541310. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE WILL BE ISSUED UNTIL AFTER AN EVALUATION HAS BEEN MADE ON THE PROVIDED SF-330.
