Expressions of Interest

This request for expressions of interest follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business Issue No.: 708 dated 16 August 2007

The Bosnia and Herzegovina has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) in the amount of US$ 36 million equivalent toward the cost of the Agriculture and Rural Development Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for Information Technology-Information Management Strategy Concept Development related to EU compliant Animal Identification and Registration

The services include:
Design of Information Technology-Information Management Strategy Concept Development related to EU compliant Animal Identification and Registration, plan to harmonize the activities of all stakeholders, propose necessary and possible amendments to the regulations (laws, rulebooks, instructions and similar) and organization (with regard to the competencies and work, training and similar). A particular focus needs to be on finding the solutions for the effective transfer of the existing records in the databases of the new information system, and security considerations. Preparation of functional characteristics / technical specifications for the necessary hardware equipment / software development and communication equipment.
Estimated implementation period is eight calendar months in 2008.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Water management and Forestry of Republika Srpska now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004, revised October 2006.

Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by March 7, 2008.
