Please see the attached Request For Information (RFI). This RFI is intended to solicit feedback from industry regarding both the objectives of the program and the potential contract structure best suited to meeting those objectives. The Marine Corp Logistics Command (MCLC) may seek a logistics support integrator to develop and manage a commercial capability to remanufacture and/or repair selected ground support equipment components such as engines, transmissions, and other drive train components, and optics and electronic components that require an extensive industrial footprint on the battlefield (there are currently 575 different items). The intent would be for the Marine Corps to divest itself of field level industrial rebuild capabilities to the maximum extent practical and to develop a more responsive and cost effective supply chain with increased component availability and reliability. The Marine Corps envisions a long-term strategic alliance with a commercial organization that has a proven track record for providing these services. The ultimate goal of this program is to provide responsive service to the Warfighter with a product that is both available and reliable. A valuable by-product is a reduction in the variability of customer-wait-time to enable more effective inventory planning. THE SUBMISSION OF INFORMATION IN RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY ITEMS/SERVICES, NOR FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED. NO ENTITLEMENT TO PAYMENT OF DIRECT OR INDIRECT CHARGES BY THE GOVERNMENT WILL ARISE AS A RESULT OF SUBMISSION OF RESPONSES TO THIS RFI AND GOVERNMENT USE OF SUCH INFORMATION. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS AT THIS TIME. Please see the attached RFI.
