The Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina intends to apply for a credit
from the International Development Association in the amount of USD
18,000,000 equivalent toward the cost of the Solid Waste Management
Project, and it intends to apply the proceeds of this credit to
payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to
be procured under this project. Bidding for contracts financed by the
International Development Association will be governed by the
procurement rules of the World Bank.

The Solid Waste Management Project aims at restructuring the solid
waste services. The project will include the following components: i)
waste management consisting of rehabilitation of existing disposal
sites; wild dump closures; collection infrastructure and support
equipment; and transfer stations; (ii) institutional strengthening of
community activities for efficient operation of solid waste system as
well as strengthen public education program; and device a Government
strategic plan for medium-term development of the SWM system; and
(iii) engineering services/technical assistance which will finance
feasibility studies, environmental and social assessments of landfill
sites yet to be identified; and finance preparation of final designs
and bidding documents.

The project will include the following goods, works and services:

- waste management consisting of rehabilitation of existing
disposal sites; wild dump closures; collection infrastructure and
support equipment (Waste-tip management services)
- Waste transfer station
- institutional strengthening of community activities for
efficient operation of solid waste system as well as strengthen
public education program; and device a Government strategic plan
for medium-term development of the SWM system (Business and
management consultancy services)
- engineering services/technical assistance which will finance
feasibility studies, environmental and social assessments of
landfill sites yet to be identified (Technical assistance
services)
- and finance preparation of final designs and bidding documents
(Procurement consultancy services)

Procurement of contracts financed by the credit will be conducted
through the procedures specified in Procurement under IBRD Loans and
IDA Credits[1] of the World Bank, and is open to all bidders from
eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines. Consulting
services will be selected in accordance with Selection and Employment
of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers[2] of the World Bank.

interested consultants who wish to receive a copy of the advertisement
requesting expressions of interest for large-value consultants’
