Eligibility of Bidders:   PROCUREMENT OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FOR 14 FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRES (FMCs) IN NIGERIA
1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business of 27th May 2003.
2. The Federal Government of Nigeria has received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of the Federal component of the Health System Development Project II, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the supply of medical equipment to 14 Federal Medical Centres (FMCs).
3. The National Project Coordinating Unit (NPCU) / Health System Development Project II (HSDP II) / Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the supply of medical equipment.

Medical Equipment shall be delivered at the designated Federal Medical Centres no later than 120 days from the award of contract(s). Bidders may bid for any one or more lots and discounts offered for the award of combined lots would be considered in bid evaluation.
4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Project office and inspect the Bidding Documents between 9 am till 3 pm (Mondays – Fridays). Address is:

6. Qualifications requirements include technical, financial, legal and other requirements. A margin of preference for eligible national contractors shall be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.
7. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of N10,000. The method of payment will be bank draft or cash paid into the Federal Ministry of Health, Health Systems Development Project II Account No. 0101301000006 at the main branch of Oceanic Bank International, Wuse-Abuja. The bidding documents will be delivered by hand to the bidder’s representative or by courier services on the request of the bidder.
8. Bids must be delivered to the address above at or before 12th December 2007 at 11.30am. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security as specified in the table above (item 3) and in the bid document. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at 12 noon on 12th December 2007. Bid opening venue shall be:

PROCUREMENT OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FOR 14 FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRES (FMCs) IN NIGERIA

1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business of 27th May 2003.

2.
