CENTRAL TRANSPORT CORRIDOR REPEATER PROJECT
(CTCRP)

GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE (GPN)

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has applied for a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) in the amount equivalent to US$ 170.0 million towards the cost of the Central Transport Corridor Repeater Project and intends to apply the proceeds of this credit to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. Bidding for contracts financed by the World Bank will be governed by its eligibility rules and procedures. The implementing agency for the project is the Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) on behalf of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development (MOID), Tanzania.

The project will include the following components:

1. Construction of about 21 km of road infrastructure , 28 bus stops, 5 terminals and 2 depots for the Dar-Es-Salaam Rapid Transit (DART) Agency
2. Supervision of the construction works for the DART infrastructure.
3. Works contract for Rehabilitation of the Korogwe – Mkumbara – Same paved road (172km)
4. Rehabilitation of the Zanzibar Airport runway
5. Supervision of Roads and Airport Rehabilitation Works
6. Technical Assistance

Procurement of works and goods contracts financed by the loan will be conducted through the procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004, revised October 2006 and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004, revised October 2006.

Specific Procurement Notices for contracts to bid under the World Bank's International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures will be announced as they become available in the United Nations Development Business (UNDB) and in national newspaper(s) of wide circulation.
