The Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has
received a credit from the International Development Association in
the amount of USD 5,000,000 equivalent toward the cost of the Central
Bank Strengthening Project, and it intends to apply the proceeds of
this credit to payments under the contract for Supply, Installation
and Commissioning of an Integrated General Ledger/Accounting System.
Bidding for contracts financed by the International Development
Association will be governed by the procurement rules specified in the
World Bank Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits[1]. It is open
to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the
guidelines.

The Central Bank Strengthening Project aims at restructuring the
financial system of the country.

Central Bank of Sri Lanka. now invites sealed bids from eligible
bidders for the following lot:

- supply, installation and commissioning of an integrated general
ledger/accounting system for the Central Bank of Sri Lanka
(Accounting system)

The instructions to bidders and general conditions of contract
contained in the bidding documents comply with the World Bank's
Standard Bidding Documents: Supply and Installation of Information
Systems (Single-Stage Bidding), version 2c, October 2000. Tenders
should be submitted on the forms available from the Office of the
Central Bank of Sri Lanka Strengthening Project. Tenders should be

scheduled on 20 March 2002 at 1000 hours (Sri Lanka time) at the
Central Bank of Sri Lanka (see address below)..

Bidding is allowed for the whole lot only.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and
inspect the bidding documents at Central Bank of Sri Lanka. at the
address below from 09:00 to 15:00. A complete set of bidding documents
in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of
a written application to the address below and upon payment of a
nonrefundable fee of LKR 5500. or US$ 60. The method of payment will
be: by check or draft drawn in favor of the Secretary, Central Bank of
Sri Lanka.. The document will be sent by registered post or hand.

Bids must be delivered to the address below by 10:00 on 19 April 2002.
All bids must be accompanied by a bid security equivalent to LKR
2000000. or an equivalent amount in bid currency. Late bids will be
rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders'
representatives who choose to attend at the address below on 19 April
2002 at 10:00.
