The Republic of Croatia has received a loan from the International
Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the amount of USD
160,000,000 equivalent toward the cost of the Rijeka Gateway Project,
and it intends to apply the proceeds of this loan to payments under
the contract for Preparation of Design for Rehabilitation Works.

The project will include the following components: Rijeka port
component (port redevelopment, rehabilitation and reconstruction
works, port equipment, consulting services) and highway component
(construction of Rijeka bypass and connection roads, rehabilitation of
bridge Krk and Zagreb-Macelj motorway, equipment and consulting
services). Rijeka port component will be co-financed and implemented
by Rijeka Port Authority, while the highway component will be
co-financed and implemented by Hrvatske Ceste d.o.o. and Hrvatske
Autoceste d.o.o..

Port of Rijeka Authority now invites eligible consultants to indicate
their interest in providing the following services:

- program of soil investigation works for the all civil works
(Ground investigation work)
- bill of quantities for demolition of old warehouses (Building
demolition and wrecking work and earthmoving work)
- preliminary design for reconstruction of Prague pier and east
part of Zagreb quay (Engineering design services for the
construction of civil engineering works)
- preliminary designs for rehabilitation of port’s infrastructure
and superstructure (Engineering design services)
- revision/update and translation of the final designs for Orlando
pier and Vienna quays (Engineering design services)

The consulting services will be required from 2002-5-1 to 2002-12-31.

Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they
are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of
similar assignment, experience in similar conditions, availability of
appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to
enhance their qualifications..

The assignment is estimated with 60 person per month..

Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they
are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of
similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of
appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to
enhance their qualifications. Consultants will be selected in
accordance with the procedures set out in the |World Bank| Selection
and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers[1].

Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address
below from 09:00 to 15:00. Expressions of interest must be delivered
to the address below by 19:00 on 18 March 2002.
