SECTION II: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
II.1) DESCRIPTION
II.1.1) Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: A
three year framework agreement on purchases of microfilm scanners.
II.1.2) Type of contract and location of works, place of delivery or of
performance: Supplies.
II.1.3) The notice involves: The conclusion of a framework agreement.
II.1.4) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The National
Library of Norway is a public institution under the Norwegian Ministry of
Culture, and has approximately 350 employees. The National Library is led
by the National Librarian. The institution is organized into four
operative departments and two administrative departments. The organization
is geographically located in two towns; Oslo and Mo i Rana.The National
Library is Norway's primary source of knowledge about Norway, Norwegians
and Norwegian conditions and culture. The institution's main
responsibility is to preserve and give access to information on the
Norwegian cultural heritage. Its collections contain wide pecter of
information on various media and formats. The collections of the National
Library also contain foreign information/publications.The National Library
is at present in the first phase of a large-scale strategic digitization
program. The ambition is to digitize its entire collection over a period
of 10-15 years. This contract is part of this program, and aims at the
digitization of microfilmed newspapers.Main focus for the contract is
digitization equipment; i.e. microfilm scanners. The agreement is a
framework contract over three years with an option for the National
Library to extend it for up to one additional year (for a maximum total
period of four years). The total number of newspaper pages to be
digitized, is estimated at approximately 60 million. A part of this will
be digitized within the organization.
In addition to1) Microfilm scanners, the contract also include:

3) Software Potential suppliers must offer the complete product range.In
addition to the option for contract period extension the contract contain
the following options for the buyer:
1) Additional Scanner(s)
2) Extended warranty
3) Service contracts for the extended contract period.
The contract terms are based on the standard contract on IT-purchases for
Norwegian official institutions (Statkonsults standardavtaler på
IKT-området) "Den store kjøpsavtalen)".
