Invitation for Prequalification

The Republic of Croatia
Trade and Transport Integration
Construction of the Multipurpose/Container Terminal in the Port of Ploce (Phase I)
Loan No. 7410HR
This invitation for prequalification follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business No. 685 of August 2nd, 2006 on-line and in DG Market.
The Republic of Croatia has applied for a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the cost of the Trade and Transport Integration and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for the Construction of the Multipurpose/Container Terminal in the Port of Ploce (Phase I)
The Port of Ploce Authority intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for: Construction of the new Multipurpose/Container Terminal in existing port area; consists of pier, RO-RO ramp, storage facility area, road and railway connections, communications and utilities installations. It is expected that invitations for bid will be made in April 2007.
Prequalification will be conducted through the prequalification procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries, as defined in the guidelines.
Interested eligible applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification document at the Port of Ploce Authority (address below) from 0800 to 1400 hours. A complete set of the prequalification document in English may be purchased by interested applicants on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of HRK 1000.00 or EUR 150.00, in favor Port of Ploče Authority: account No. 2484008-1100534543 (HRK) and account No. 2500004380 Raifeisen Bank Zagreb, Swift: R2BHHR2X; IBAN: HR3024840082500004380 (EURO). The method of payment will be direct deposit to specified account. The document will be sent by mail to the address of the applicant who request it in writing subject to the presentation of a proof of payment of the requested amount.
Applications for prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address below by March 2nd, 2007 and be clearly marked “Application to Prequalify for Construction of the Multipurpose/Container Terminal in the Port of Ploce (Phase I)”.
