GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE

Albania

MUNICIPAL WATER AND WASTEWATER PROJECT

Credit No. 3730-ALB

This general procurement notice updates that published in Development Business No. 611 of July 31, 2003.

The Albanian Government has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) in the amount of 11.400.000 SDR equivalent toward the cost of the Municipal Water and Wastewater Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project.

The project will include the following components:

1. Rehabilitation of the wellfield Kafaraj (Fier) including civil works and goods to be installed.
2. Construction of parallel line in Saranda town, DN 255 HDPE, 4 km line
3. Supply of flash truck for Water Company of Saranda
4. Engineering Consulting Services, Customer Survey

Procurement of contracts financed by the credit will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, January 1995 (revised January and August 1996, September 1997) and January 1999, and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (January 1997, revised September 1997, January 1999, and May 2002).

Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and dgMarket
