SPECIFIC PROCUREMENT NOTICE/
REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

REF. NO AMA-ASIP/PROC- 003


The Government of Ghana has obtained a loan in the amount of USD 66 million from the African Development Bank (ADB) towards financing the costs of the Accra Sewerage Improvement Project (ASIP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds to eligible payments under the contract for Training Consulting Services.

The training consultancy services will entail strengthening of the human resource capabilities through the design and implementation of a training programme for all categories of sewerage staff. A comprehensive local functional training programme will be provided for 116 staff, which is expected to provide the skills, attitudes and capabilities vital for ensuring significant and consistent improvements in the services provided by the sewerage and sanitation system. Specifically, 50 courses will be offered for technical operations, accounting and finance, public health education, environmental health, commercial operations, administration, management, auditing, budgeting, information technology, good and sewerage governance, HIV/AIDS etc.

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly now invites consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested firms must provide a statement of capability and experience indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). This advertisement is open to consultants from eligible sources countries.

A shortlist of five to seven firms will be compiled in accordance with the procedures set out in the African Development Bank’s Rules of Procedure for the Use of Consultants.

Written expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below 15th November 2006 at 05:00 p.m.
