GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE

KENYA

KIMIRA OLUCH SMALL HOLDER FARM IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

The Government of Kenya has received a loan and grant from African Development Fund to finance Kimira Oluch Small Holder Farm Improvement Project.

The principal objective of this project is to develop sustainable and environmentally friendly small holder irrigation schemes, increase household income and food security in Kimira and Oluch at Rachuonyo and Homabay Districts.

In order to achieve these objectives the project will focus on:-
1. Irrigation Scheme Development and Management.
2. Marketing and Extension.
3. Project Co-ordination and Management.


The project’s modes of procurement are as follows:-

• Civil Works: International Competitive Bidding; and National Competitive Bidding
• Goods: International Competitive Bidding; National Competitive Bidding; and National Shopping
• Consulting Services and Training: Shortlisting and Direct Negotiations
• Miscellaneous: Government Procedures.

Procurement of goods and/or work will be in accordance with the rules of procedure for the procurement of goods and work. Acquisition of the services of consultants will follow the Bank’s rules of procedure for the use of consultants. Bidding documents are expected to be available in September 2006.
