Invitation for Bids (IFB)

1. This invitation for bids follows general procurement notice for this project that appeared in the Development Business issue No 608 of June 16, 2003

2.The Federal Government of Nigeria has received a Credit from the International Development Association towards the cost of Nasarawa State Health Systems Development Project II, and intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the Contract for the provision of construction works at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Lafia.

3.The Nasarawa State Health Systems Development Project II now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the under listed construction works.

Lot 1 : Construction of 1No. Male Students Hostel block at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Lafia, Bid security is NGN3,200,000.00 and completion time is 16 Weeks.

Lot 2 : Construction of 1No. Female Students’ Hostel block at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Lafia, Bid security is NGN3,200,000.00, completion time is 16 Weeks.

Lot 3: Installation of step down Transformer and connection of the School of Nursing to public electricity supply at School of Nursing and Midwifery, Lafia, Bid Security is NGN200,000.00 and completion time is 16 Weeks.

Lot 4: Water reticulation from the public mains to the buildings at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Lafia, Bid Security is
NGN284,000.00, completion time is 16 Weeks.

Lot 5: Construction of 2Nos. Motorized boreholes at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Lafia, Bid Security is NGN224,000.00 and completion time is 16 Weeks.

4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding Procedures and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits

5. A complete set of Bidding documents in English Language may be purchased at Nasarawa State Health Systems Development Project II, Project Implementation Unit, Sen. Haruna Abubakar Road, Off Shendam Road, Tudun Makongiji Abdullahi, Lafia. for a non-refundable fee of Ten thousand Naira (N10,000.00) only for the first set and Five thousand Naira(N5,000.00) for any additional set. Or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency, for each set. Interested bidders may obtain further information at the same address.

6. Bids shall be valid for a period of 120 days after Bid opening and must be accompanied by bid security as per above or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency, and shall be delivered to Nasarawa State Health Systems Development Project II, Project Implementation Unit, Sen. Haruna Abubakar Road, Off Shendam Road, Tudun Makongiji Abdullahi, Lafia , on or before 11.00am, Monday September 25, 2006 at which time they will be opened in the presence of bidders or representatives who wish to attend.

7. Evaluation will be on Lot by Lot basis or a combination of lots. Award shall also be on Lot by Lot basis or a combination of lots. The Project shall give consideration to the combination that is most economical to the Employer.
