Request for Expressions of Interest

Contract/Bid No.REI-001

The Government of Egypt has received a credit from the International
Development Association in the amount of USD 90,000,000 equivalent
toward the cost of the Health Sector Reform Project, and it intends to
apply the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for
Consulting Services.

The project will support (a) the provision of universal access to a
basic package of Primary Health Care (PHC) services; and (b) reform of
the Health Insurance Organization (HIO).

The Ministry of Health and Population now invites eligible consultants
to indicate their interest in providing the following services:

- Design of health facilities:

- Architectural, engineering, construction and related technical
consultancy services

- Supervision of construction:

- Construction-site supervision services

Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they
are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of
similar assignments especially during the last five years, and details
of at least three of these similar assignments, experience on similar
projects in the region, availability of appropriate skills among
staff, etc.).

Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they
are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of
similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of
appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to
enhance their qualifications. Consultants will be selected in
accordance with the procedures set out in the |World Bank| Selection
and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers[1].

below. Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below
by 09:00 on 30 September 2001.
