Consulting services for Capacity building and Implementation support


Request for Expressions of Interest

This request for expression of interest follows the General Procurement Notice for this project which appeared in Development Business No. 656, dated June 16, 2005.

The Socialist Republic of Vietnam has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Vietnam Road Safety Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services. The services include capacity building and implementation support for the Government of Vietnam so as to ensure the objectives of the Project are achieved in a timely and cost-effective manner, including:

(i) project implementation support, capacity building, and project monitoring and evaluation;

(ii) development and monitoring of road user education and awareness building campaigns;

(iii) support for improved road safety auditing, safety nspections, accident black-spot identification and treatment; and driver training and testing;

(iv) support for development of a National Road Accident Data Base and Analysis System and improvements to safety enforcement strategies and techniques;

(v) review and improvements of the vehicle inspection and testing system;

(vi) review and improvements of the national road safety education system at all levels; and

(vii) review and improvement to emergency medical services in keys road safety corridors.

The Traffic Safety Projects Management Unit now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004.

Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below from 7:30 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
