1.This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business dg market of May 27, 2003.

2.The Federal Government of Nigeria has received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Ondo State Health System Development Project II, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the procurement of Civil Works.

3.The Ondo State Health System Development Project II now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the procurement of Civil Works as specified below and in the Bill of Quantities.

Lot Description

General Hospital, Ipe-Akoko:
Renovation of X-Ray Laboratory
- Rehabilitation of Price
-Rehabilitation of Maternity Unit
-Rehabilitation of Pharmacy/OPD

Bid Security: At least 3% of Bid price.

II.General Hospital, Iwaro-Oka:
- Renovation of Maternity Unit
-Renovation of OPD/Admin. Block
-Renovation of X-Ray/Laboratory Unit
-Renovation of Wards

Bid Security: At least 3% of Bid price.

III. General Hospital, Iju-Ita-Ogbolu:
- Construction of Mortuary

Bid Security: At least 3% of Bid Price. IV. General Hospital, Ode-Irele:
- Construction of Mortuary
-Renovation of OPD/Admin. Block

-Renovation of Pharmacy Unit Price
-Renovation of Maternity/Wards

4.Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5.Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Project office, Room 309, 3rd Floor, Ministry of Health, State Secretariat, Alagbaka, Akure. and inspect the Bidding Documents between 8 am till 4 pm (Mondays – Fridays). With effect from Thursday 22nd December, 2005.

6.Qualifications requirements include technical, financial, legal and other requirements. A margin of 15% preference for eligible national contractors shall be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.

7.A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the Project Manager, Room 308, 3rd Floor, Ministry of Health, State Secretariat, Alagbaka, Akure and upon payment of a non refundable fee of Ten thousand Naira (N10,000.) for the first set of lot and Five thousand Naira (N5,000.) for any additional lot purchased or its equivalent in any freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be cash or bank draft. The Bidding Documents will be collected by hand by the bidder’s representative or sent by courier services on request of the bidder.

8.Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before Tuesday 7th February, 2006 at 10.00 a.m. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives, who choose to attend in person at the address below at 10.00 a.m. on Tuesday 7th February, 2006. All bids must be accompanied by bid security of at least 3%. of Bid Price.

There will be a Pre-Bid opening meeting on Tuesday 24th January, 2006 at 10.00 am at the Conference Room 2nd Floor, Ministry of Health, State Secretariat Alagbaka, Akure.
