BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF GOODS: PROCUREMENT OF COLD CHAIN EQUIPMENT

1.This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, Issues No 608 of June 16, 2003..

2.The Federal Government of Nigeria has received a Credit from the International Development Association towards the cost of Delta State Health System Development Project-II, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for the procurement of Cold Chain Equipment

3.The Delta State Health System Development Project II now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of the under listed items.

i. Procurement of 28 Ice Pack refrigerator/Ice Pack Freezer with a bid security of at least 3% of bid price;

ii. Procurement of 28 Deep Freezers and 150 Stabilizers with a bid security of atleast 3% of bid price;

iii. Procurement of 300 Cold Box and 250 Vaccine carrier with a bid security of 3% of bid price

iv. Procurement of 900 Thermometer and 12,500 Ice Pack with a bid security of atleast 3% of bid price;

v. Procurement of Generators with a bid security of at least 3% of bid price.

Delivery period is 120 days.

Bidders may bid for any one or more lots and discounts offered for the award of combined lots will be considered in bid evaluation.

4. Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

6.A complete set of bidding documents in English Language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the addressed above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Ten thousand Naira (N10, 000.00). The method of payment shall be by bank draft or cash paid into the Delta State HSDP II account No 1301005809 at the Asaba Branch of Oceanic Bank, Asaba. The bidding document will be sent by courier or collected by hand from the office of Delta State HSDP-II, Asaba.

7.Bids must be delivered to the Delta State Health System Development Project II, Ministry of Health, DLA Road, Asaba on or before12.00 Noon 26h October , 2005.All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of at least 3% of Bid price for each Lot in local currency or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency and shall remain valid for 30 days beyond the bid validity period i.e. 90 days. Late bids will be rejected. Bid will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address above.
