1.This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business; issue no 608 of June 16, 2003.

2.The Federal Government of Nigeria has received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Taraba State Health System Development Project II, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for supply of Hospital equipments and furniture No. TR/HSDP II/ICB/GOODS/001.

3.The Taraba State Health System Development Project II now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for supply of the under listed medical equipment:

5.Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding procedures, specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

6.Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Taraba State Health System Development Project II and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 0800 to 1600 daily, Mondays to Fridays.

7.A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the Project Manager, Taraba State Health System Development Project II, Essential Drugs Programme Premises, behind Taraba State Broadcasting Service (TSBS) Jalingo, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of N10, 000 (Ten Thousand Naira) or $ 75 US (seventy five US dollars.) The method of payment will be by cash or Bank draft payable to Taraba State Health System Development Project II. The document will be sent by courier or collected by hand.

8.Bids must be accompanied by a bid security of at least 3% of the bid price or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency, and be delivered to the Office of the Project Manager, Taraba State Health System Development Project II, Essential Drugs Programme Premises, behind Taraba State Broadcasting Service (TSBS) Jalingo, at or before 10000 hours Thursday 25, August 2005. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security as mentioned in the table above or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders or representatives who choose to attend at address below at 10000 hours prompt on Thursday 25, August 2005.
