The Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan hasapplied forfinancing in the amount of US$ 84.15 million equivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of the Afghanistan JusticeSector Delivery Project (AJSDP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services andconsulting services to be procured under this project. This project will be jointly financed by the [insert name of cofinancing agency].
The project will include the following components of (i)Partnership for Justice, (ii) Legal Empowerment, (iii) Organization and Capacity of Justice Institutions, and (iv) ImplementationCapacity, along with consulting services for design and supervision of civil construction works, individual consultants, goods(like furniture, IT equipment, vehicles, etc.) and works involving construction of courtbuildings etc.
Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will beconductedthrough the procedures as specified in the World Bank's http://www.worldbank.org/html/opr/procure/guidelin.html">Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans andIDA Credits (current edition), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined inthe guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank's http://www.worldbank.org/html/opr/consult/contents.html">Guidelines: Selection and Employment ofConsultants by World Bank Borrowers (current edition).
Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under theWorld Bank's international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, asthey become available, in http://www.devbusiness.com/">UN Development Business and http://www.dgmarket.com/">dgMarket.
