II.2) Type of contract and location of works Main site or location of works: UKJ24 II.3) Information on framework agreement The notice involves the establishment of a framework agreement: no II.4) Short description of nature and scope of works Crawley Borough Council is looking for an experienced organisation to partner with to take forward a number of exciting decentralised energy projects in the Borough. The aims of the Council's Decentralised Energy programme are: 1) To cut CO2 emissions in Crawley significantly by developing decentralised energy networks in the borough, 2) To maximise economic, social and environmental benefit to Crawley residents. Our key objectives for the programme are: a) to deliver decentralised energy to Crawley residents and businesses fuelled by low or zero carbon energy sources, b) to reduce levels of fuel poverty and allow residents to buy cheaper, low-carbon heat, c) to work in partnership with suitable organisations who share our aims, d) to develop new approaches to generation as the technology develops, e) to ensure the project delivers the greatest benefits at lowest, whole-life cost. There is the possibility that any subsequent contract may include opportunities to provide similar services to other local authorities within county of West Sussex. The Council will issue additional information including a number of questions / topics which we would wish to discuss with interested parties. We will then liaise with you with a view to set up a workshop with all interested stakeholders on 3.4.2012. We would expect final written responses to this notice by 27.4.2012. For the avoidance of doubt this Notice is issued for the purpose of market testing and does not formally signify the beginning of procurement or constitute a commitment by Crawley Borough Council to undertake any procurement exercise.
