Synopsis:
This is an INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE announcement only. The 20th Contracting Squadron (20 CONS) Shaw Air Force Base SC, under the authority of FAR Subpart 13.106(1)(b), Soliciting from a single source, test program for commercial items (section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996) or the authority of the Services Acquisition Reform Act of 2003 (41 U.S.C. 428a) , intends to negotiate and award a sole source firm-fixed-price purchase order contract to OPNET Technologies, Inc., 7255 Woodmont Avenue, Bethesda MD 20814, for OPNET Licenses, upgrades, and Technical Support, necessary to support the United States Air Force Central Command (USAFCENT) mission requirements. The contractor shall provide the required OPNET licenses and technical maintenance support. The Government proposes awarding a sole source purchase order to ensure uninterrupted service currently being provided to USAFCENT.
This document does not constitute a solicitation for offers. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. Pricing data is not requested or required. No contract award will be made based on responses received. This synopsis shall not be construed as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals, the source selection process, or the adjudication of protests or formal contract disputes, nor does the Ombudsman diminish the authority of the program manager, contracting officer, or source selection official. When approached with an issue or query the Ombudsman independently assesses the situation and provides a response or initiates a resolution, and when requested, will maintain confidentiality as to the source of the inquiry.
