GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
GOVERNEMNT OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF BANGLADESH
SKILLS AND TRAININGENHANCEMENT PROJECT

PROJECT ID: P090807


The Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh intends to apply for a Credit in the amount of about US$ 79 millionequivalent from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the proposed Skills and Training EnhancementProject, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to beprocured under this project.  

The indicative components of the project are likely to include the following:

Component 1-
  Improve the Quality and Relevance of Training   
Component 2-
Pilots in TVET
Component 3-
Institutional Capacity Building, and

Component 4-  Project Management and Communications, Monitoring and Evaluation   

Within these components, the project has not yetidentified significant goods/works packages to be procured under International CompetitiveBidding (ICB) procedures. However, somegoods/ works/ service contract packages may be required to procure under ICB procedure in future which will be published throughSpecific Procurement Notice (SPN).     

Some Services under this project that may involveinternational consultants are as follows:

 

  • Consultancy service for Communication& Mobilization
  • Consultancy services for BaselineSurvey
  • Consultancy services for Monitoring andEvaluation

Procurement of contracts under ICB procedure, which areto be financed by the Credit, will be conducted in appropriate packages through theprocedures specified in the World BankGuidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (Published in May 2004 and revised in October 2006 and May 2010), and isopen to all bidders from eligible sourcecountries as defined in the Guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordancewith the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (Published in May 2004 andrevised in October 2006 and May 2010).

Specific Procurement Notices (SPNs) for contracts to be bid under theWorld Bank's international competitive bidding (ICB)procedures, and for consultancy services contracts will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business,dgMarket, The World Bank's external website and in the webpage of Directorate of Technical Education (DTE).

Interested eligible bidders who wish to be included on the mailing list to receive invitations to bid under ICB procedures andinterested consultants who wish to receive a copy of advertisement requesting expressions of interest for consultancy contracts, orthose requiring additional information, should contact the address below.
