Original Text

Due to initiatives to remove Hexavalent Chrome usage, the USAF is replacing line-of-sight Chrome plating on landing gear components with WC-Co and WC-Co-Cr chemistries applied by the HVOF process. The USAF has been utilizing the HVOF process to replace chrome plating on existing landing gear components through the overhaul process. The USAF landing gear requirements group at Hill AFB is now seeking HVOF processors for applying WC-Co and WC-Co-Cr on newly manufactured landing gear components. All qualification requirements are provided in 200925098. Once approved, processors will be placed on the Qualified Processor List (QPL) within the 200925098 specification.
