The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Air Traffic Organization, is conducting a Market Survey / Request for Information to determine the interest in providing up to six (6) new Smith Detection Model Hi Scan 5030si machines and providing continuing maintenance and training support for up to 50 locations that already have installed Model 5030si machines. The FAA wishes to maintain configuration management and consistency of training and maintenance, so this procurement will be brand name-mandatory. Substitution with like items is not acceptable. Previously procurred equipment is located at FAA locations throughout the country. The period of performance is anticipated to be two base years and three priced option years. This announcement is NOT a Screening Information Request (SIR) or a Request for Proposal (RFP) of any kind. This market survey is also being conducted in order to obtain the information necessary to determine whether adequate competition exists to set-aside the competition among small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses or 8(a) certified firms. The FAA requires interested vendors to describe the expected programmatic approach (in-house, teaming, subcontracting, etc.) - Respondents must provide their strategy for accomplishing this work, including the percentage of work that will be done by eligible small, service-disabled veteran-owned and 8(a) certified businesses. The NAICS code for this acquisition will be 334517 with a size standard of 500 employees.
All interested parties are advised that the FAA will not pay for any information or any administrative costs incurred that are associated with any responses received from industry in response to this Market Survey / Request for Information. Therefore, any costs associated will be solely at the interested party's expense. Failure to respond to this market survey will not result in exclusion from any future competition.
