IDB299-658/05 Country: THE BAHAMAS Project: BAHAMAS GOVERNMENT SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME Sector: Consulting Abstract: ENGINEERING / CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION SERVICES Loan No. 1170/OC-BH The Government of the Bahamas has received a loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) toward the cost of the Bahamas Solid Waste Management Programme, and it intends to apply part of the loan toward the provision on an on-going technical assistance to the Project Execution Unit (PEU) of the Department of Environmental Health Services (DEHS). The contracting of Engineering/Construction Supervision Services will include: --Construction supervision of new solid waste management facilities on seven family islands; --Construction supervision of a hazardous and storage waste facility on New Providence; --Construction supervision of a leachate and storm water management system also on New Providence; and --Advisory assistance to the PEU Environmental issues. The Project Execution Unit, under the auspices of the DEHS and the Ministry of Health, now invites local and international firms, and joint ventures to participate in this bidding process by presenting sealed bids for Engineering/Construction Supervision Services. The procedures for the contracting for the provision of service, financed by this program, will be subject to the provisions of this loan contract. Interested parties may obtain further information, including eligibility to participate, and may collect a copy of the bidding document from the first address below. Interested tenderers may purchase a complete set of tender documents by submitting a written application to the DEHS and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of US$ 100. The method of payment will be certified check or cash. The documents would be ready for review as of Wednesday, 29 June 2005. Tenders are to be submitted in sealed envelope(s) marked “Tenders for Engineering/Construction Supervision Services”, and sent to the second address below. All tenders must reach the Tender’s Board no later than 1600 hours on Monday, 8 August 2005. All tenders must be submitted in triplicate. Tenders will be opened at 1000 hours on Tuesday, 9 August 2005, at the office of the Tenders Board, Ministry of Finance. The Government reserves the right to reject any or all tenders.
