Agriculture Research, Extension and Training Project operates in Georgia.
This project will be jointly financed by the Global Environmental Facility Trust Fund. The project is in the phase of implementation and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2005. The Project mainly includes the development of an efficient and cost-effective agricultural knowledge system through the following components:
(i) Competitive Grant Scheme which will support adaptive research and technology dissemination at the farm level;
(ii) Agricultural research, extension and training system reform for a selected high priority research direction;
(iii) Environmental pollution control to reduce agricultural nutrient pollution of the rivers draining into the Black Sea
