The African Organization of English Speaking Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI-E) has received financing in the amount of US$ 927, 000 equivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of the Institutional Strengthening of Supreme Audit Institutions in English Speaking Africa Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. AFROSAI-E is a key regional institution. AFROSAI-E consists of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) from twenty three countries on the African continent. Its main objective is to enhance the audit performance of member SAIs and adopted an institutional strengthening approach as delivery mechanism in bringing about increased audit capacity at member SAIs.
This project will be jointly financed by the World Bank’s International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the Government of South Africa.
The project will include the following components:
(a) Review and development work in local authorities auditing and financial management systems.
(b) Develop and implement information technology based on productivity enhancement auditing practices.
(c) Support the professionalization of public sector auditors.
(d) Support the AFROSAI-E ‘s Secretariat to carry out the activities under the Grant through the provision of support staff.
(e) Carrying out Grant Audits
The Project will procure the following Consulting Services:
(i) Technical Advancement and Institutional Strengthening of Supreme Audit Institutions in the Auditing of Local Authorities and Financial Management Systems: Increased Audit Coverage By Developing The Use Of Information Technology In Auditing And Audit Reporting.
(ii) Technical Advancement and Institutional Strengthening of Supreme Audit Institutions in the Auditing of Local Authorities and Financial Management Systems: Capacity Building and Training Consultancy
No goods and works are anticipated to be procured under ICB.
