BASIC NUTRITION PROGRAM. Basic Nutrition Program operates in Guyana.
The objective of the program is to reduce the level of malnutrition in Guyana. To achieve this objective, the operation would focus on three areas of intervention: (1) child feeding practices; (2) anemia reduction; and (3) training, institutional strengthening and impact evaluation. Consistent with the impact evaluation included in component 3, the program's actions would be targeted to areas of high nutritional vulnerability based on regional data collected in the nutrition surveys and a poverty map based on a household expenditure survey to be completed in 2002
