AGRICULTURE: FOURTH FISHERIES operates in Bangladesh.
The objective of the Project is to support sustainable growth in and equitable distribution of the benefits generated from increased fish and shrimp production for domestic consumption and exports. The Project will contribute to poverty alleviation in Bangladesh by improving the livelihoods of poor people dependent on fisheries resources. In addition, while not directly monitored under the Project, the increased production will have important nutritional and health benefits, particularly for the poor since fish contributes about 60% of animal protein in their diet
