AR (APL2) Prov Maternal-Child Health operates in Argentina.
The Provincial Maternal-Child Health Investment Project for Argentina will: (i) increase access for uninsured others and children to basic health services known to effectively address the main causes of maternal and under-5 mortality in 15 provinces of Argentina; (ii) strengthen the incentive framework for efficiency and focus on results between the national level and the participating provinces and among provinces and service providers. Components to the Project: (1) This component will include financing to support: capitation payments for Plan Nacer services by the National Ministry of Health (MSN); equipment (medical, transportation, and communications) for basic health care facilities; technical assistance and training programs for the provincial Ministries of Health; Health service delivery training for providers delivering basic services; information technology equipment and consultant services; Technical assistance and training. (2) This component will be to adapt the provincial Ministries of Health to meet the implementation requirements of Plan Nacer. (3) This component will ensure the effectiveness of Plan Nacer, the government needs to see that the eligible populations, particularly those who have historically been marginalized, have enough knowledge about, and motivation to use the services being offered. (4) The program will be expected to change the incentive structure for health services staff and facility managers and tighten their accountability for results. (5) the project will finance operational expenses, such as travel costs to the provinces, travel and per diem costs for coordination meetings, mainly for the National Health Services Purchasing Team activities.
