Colombo Port Expansion Project. Sri Lanka Ports Authority operates in Sri Lanka.
Objective
The overall objective of the Project is to expand the Port of Colombo to realize its potential as an internationally competitive hub port in South Asia. The expanded port will provide facilities to accommodate the latest generation of mainline container ships and will benefit the economy of Sri Lanka.
The Project also proposes to increase the efficiency of port operations and services in the port by offering concessions for the operation of new container terminals within the expanded port and thus increasing private sector participation.
The harbor infrastructure works will be constructed by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, which is the subject of the General Procurement Notice.
