The Project will support environmental improvements and institutional reforms initiated by the Anhui Provincial Government to arrest environmental degradation of the Chao Lake Basin. An effective and sustainable environmental management program for the basin will be formulated, capacity building will be provided for the agencies involved, and conversion of polluting industrial processes to clean technology will be financed at the four most polluting industrial enterprises.
