Country: BARBADOS Project: EDUCATION SECTOR ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMME Sector: Computers Subject: SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF ACADEMIC SOFTWARE - PHASE 2B Loan Contract No. 1154/OC-BA – IDB-5B Invitation for Bids The Government of Barbados (GOB) has received a loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) toward the cost of the Education Sector Enhancement Programme (ESEP / Edutech) and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for supply and installation of information technology – Phase 2. Interested eligible tenderers may obtain further information from the Education Project Implementation Unit at the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports and inspect the tender documents at the first address given below from 0830 to 1630 hours, Barbados time, Monday to Friday. A complete set of tender documents, in English, may be purchased by interested tenderers on the submission of a written application to the second address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of BDS$ 100 or an equivalent amount in any freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be in the form of cash, a Company or Manager’s check or an international money order, made payable to the Accountant General. The document will be sent by international courier. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery. Bids must be delivered to the address indicated in the tender document at or before 1630 hours (local time) on Wednesday 20 July 2005. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of 2 per cent of the bid price. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the tenderers’ representatives who choose to attend at the address, date and time indicated in the tender documents. All corporate tenderers must include with their bid a copy of the Company's Certificate of Incorporation as evidence of the fact that the company is an existing registered company as of the date of their bid. The certificate must be in the name of the tenderer. Failure to provide this certificate shall render the bid void. Local tenderers are advised that the certificate of incorporation referred to means a certificate of incorporation issued under the 1985 Companies Act of Barbados, or where applicable, a Certificate of Continuance and/or a Certificate of Amalgamation, or a Certificate or Amendment. Certificates must be dated after December 1984. Tenderers should be aware that the provisions of the Labour Clauses (Public Contracts) ACT: CAP349 shall, in so far as they are applicable to the bid, apply to any contract made in respect of this tender.
