The Republic of Kazakhstan has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Drylands Management Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Procurement of Wind Mills. The Ministry of Environmental Protection now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Contract G/WM-2, supply and installation of wind mills, 22 units, to the Shetsky region of Karaganda oblast. The delivery will be conducted during two years.

Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loan and IDA Credits (Jan. 1995, revised Jan. and Aug. 1996, Sept. 1997 and Jan. 1999) and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Project Management Unit and inspect the bidding documents at the address below from 10:00 to 16:00 hours, except Sundays and holidays.

A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of US Dollars 110. The method of payment will be by cash, cashiers cheque or by direct credit to our US Dollar Account:

All bids must be accompanied by a security of no less than 2.5 per cent of the total bid price or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency and be delivered to the address below at or before 11:00 on February 2, 2005. They will be opened immediately thereafter, in the presence of the bidders’ representatives, who choose to attend at the address below at 11:00 on February 2, 2005. Late bids will be rejected.
