This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business No. 550 of 16 January 2001.

1. The Government of Grenada has received a loan in the amount of US$ 5.06 million from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and a credit in the amount of US$ 5.01 million equivalent from the International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of the Grenada Emergency Recovery and disaster Management Project, and intends to apply part of the loan and credit proceeds to payments under the contract for the construction of slope stability works at the following areas:

· La Mode
· Grand Roy
· Mount Carmel
· St. James
· Brizan
· Woodford
· River Road, St. George’s
· Beausejour
· Waltham
· Non Pariel
· Ford
· Westerhall
· Good Hope

2. The Ministry of Communications, Works and Transport, Government of Grenada invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction of Slope Stability Works comprising retaining structures, drainage works at a number of locations on the highway network.

3. Bidding documents (and additional copies) may be purchased at the first address below for a nonrefundable fee of EC$ 270 (US$100) or its equivalent in a freely-convertible currency, for each set. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding documents, at the first address below from 0900 to 1500 hours, Monday through Friday beginning Monday 6th December, 2004.

4. Bids shall be valid for a period of 90 days after Bid opening and must be accompanied by security of EC$ 15,000 (US$ 5,500) or its equivalent in a freely-convertible currency, and shall be delivered to the second address below by 1500 hours on Friday 15th January, 2005. They will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend, at the same address. Late bids will be rejected.

5. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, current edition, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines.
