1. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has received a loan from the African Development Fund in various currencies towards the cost of National Livestock Development Project. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for procurement of laboratory equipments and laboratory furniture.

2. The Ministry now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of different
laboratory equipment and Laboratory furniture as described in the specification.

Bidders can only bid for a complete lot and could bid for more than one lot.

4. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of birr 100 or equivalent of USD.

5. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Documents: Procurement of Goods.

6. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 3:00 P.M, February 5, 2005. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of USD 2,000.00 (two thousand) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency such as Bank draft, Electronic payments etc. for each item.. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 3:30 P.M, February 5, 2005.
