Expressions of Interest

This request for expressions of interest follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in Development Business No. 608 of 16 June 2003.

The Government of Azerbaijan Republic has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA), and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for Advisory Services for the effective realization and functioning of the established Card Processing Centre.

The services include:

§ Assist the National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA) for the effective realization and functioning of the established Card Processing Centre including development of business plan, necessary procedures and rules, organizational and implementation arrangements and etc.

The consultant should have a least 7 years experience in planning and operations of card payments, relative experience n Central Banks, knowledge and experience in Information Technologies as used to support Card payments, excellent speaking and writing skills in English, excellent communication skills.

NBA now invites eligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services.

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, January 1997 (revised September 1997, and January 1999).

Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by February 27, 2003.
