Loan No. 2009: Rural Electrification and Network Expansion Project
The Kingdom of Bhutan has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Rural Electrification and Network Expansion Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for supply and delivery of goods, materials and equipment required for electrification in various districts in Bhutan.

The Bhutan Power Corporation now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the supply of the following goods:

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information on the Bid form and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below.

The method of payment for equipment will be through Letter of Credit establishment by the BPC with the Supplier's Banker in their home country and the payment would be released directly by ADB upon advice by the Purchaser's Banker to ADB.

The Bidding Document in the English language may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders on submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of Nu. 2,300 or US$50. The document will be sent by registered mail. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 1200 hours on 17 February 2004. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security as specified in the bidding documents. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the Bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the Bhutan Power Conference Hall, RICB Building, Thimphu at 1500 hours on 17 February 2004.

Bhutan Power Corporation will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.
