INVITATION FOR BIDS

GRENADA
EMERGENCY RECOVERY AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT PROJECT

Slope Stability Works
Loan No 4583 – GRD; Credit No 3423 - GRD

1. This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business No. 550 of 16 January 2001.
2. The Government of Grenada has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) in the amount of US$ 5.06 million and a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) in the amount of US$ 5.01 million equivalent toward the cost of the Grenada Emergency Recovery and Disaster Management Project, and it intends to apply part of the loan and credit proceeds to payments under the contract for the Construction of Slope Stability Works at the following areas:
· Brizan
· Woodford
· Grand Roy
· River Road
3. The Ministry of Communications, Works and Public Utilities, Government of Grenada now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Construction of Slope Stability works comprising retaining structures, and drainage works at a number of locations on the highway network.
4. Bidding documents (and additional copies) may be purchased at the first address below for a non-refundable fee of EC$270.00 (US$100.00) or its equivalent in a freely-convertible currency, for each set. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding documents, at the first address below from 0900 to 1500 hours, Monday through Friday from Monday 10th November 2003.
5. Bidding will be conducted through the national competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, January 1995 (revised January and August 1996, September 1997 and January 1999), and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines.
6. Bids shall be valid for a period of 90 days after bid opening and must be accompanied by a security of EC$28,000 (US$10,370) or its equivalent in a freely-convertible currency, and be delivered to the second address below by 1500 hours on Wednesday 3rd December 2003. They will be opened immediately thereafter, in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend, at the same address. Late bids will be rejected.
