The Government of Grenada has received a loan from the International
Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the amount of USD 5,060,000
equivalent, and has received a credit from the International
Development Association in the amount of USD 5,000,000 equivalent
toward the cost of the Emergency Recovery and Disaster Management
Project, and it intends to apply the proceeds of this funding to
payments under the contract for Technical Audit: Grand Mal Bay Sea
Defence and Road Rehabilitation.

The project will strengthen the ability to direct disaster management
agencies, and enhance their capacity to mitigate adversity, concerning
particular disasters such as floods, landslides, storm surges, and
hurricanes in Grenada.

Project Coordination Unit now invites eligible consultants to indicate
their interest in providing the following services:

- Technical Audit: Grand Mal Bay Sea Defence and Road
Rehabilitation (Auditing services)

The services include the following: (i) To ensure that the completed
Grand Mal Bay Sea Defence and Road Rehabilitation Program was built in
accordance with the design prepared by the Design Consultants and in
compliance with the environmental mitigation measures specified in the
contract documents (ii) To ensure that the completed works can
maintain the vital link between Queens Park and Grand Mal for
vehicular traffic during periods of storm surges or other bad weather.
(iii) To ensure that the completed works are suitable to prevent
damage to the roadway, adjoining property and injury to persons who
use the roadway or live in the adjoining areas.

Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they
are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of
similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of
appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to
enhance their qualifications. Consultants will be selected in
accordance with the procedures set out in the |World Bank| Selection
and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers[1].

Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address
below from 09:00 to 15:00. Expressions of interest must be delivered
to the address below by 15:00 on 2 December 2002.
