The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New York District intends to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) for the award of a firm fixed contract for Maintenance Dredging of Lake Montauk Harbor, New York, Federal Navigation Project,  with subsequent placement of the dredged sand at the beach adjacent to the west jetty as beach nourishment.  The proposed maintenance dredging would remove up to approximately 7,000 cubic yards of sand.  The site of work is located in Suffolk County, N.Y.  The work consists of dredging the channel to a depth of 12 feet project depth plus 2 feet overdepth and 1 foot extra overdepth as advance maintenance.  Currently, there are small business contractors in the New York area or in a reasonable mobilization distance that own a small pipeline dredge capable of performing this work.   The estimated cost range for this project is $250,000.00 to $450,000.00. The selected contractor must complete the work no later than 31 December 2008.  This project is being solicited as a small business set aside procurement.
