II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Amey Plc in
conjunction with Buckinghamshire County Council (BCC) is seeking
expressions of interest for Special Education Needs and Mainstream Rural
Transportation services. The scope of the contract will include:
transportation of 1400-1500 Special Education Needs and 500-600 Rural
Mainstream Pupils to and from school for every school day of the year. The
service will provide transport for 16 special schools and 50 mainstream
schools in Buckinghamshire. The age of the pupils will fall between 2
years and 19 years of age. Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles and Passenger
Assistants will be required for many of the transport routes. The
contractor(s) will need to adhere to all key performance indicators,
service standards and staff training obligations set out in the Terms and
Conditions and the Specification. All contractors and their employees will
have to be compliant with the Vetting and Barring Act, 2006 which is due
to be introduced during the latter part of 2009. Successful contractors
will be required to work closely with the Amey - BCC Client Transport Team
to deliver both efficiencies and improving services.Special-purpose road

required under this Section or has not supplied such information;
(h) has been the subject of a conviction for participation in a criminal
organisation, as defined in Article 2(1) of Council Joint Action
98/733/JHA;
(i) has been the subject of a conviction for corruption, as defined in
Article 3 of the Council Act of 26.5.1972 and Article 3(1) of Council
Joint Action 98/742/JHA3 respectively;
(j) has been the subject of a conviction for fraud within the meaning of
Article 1 of the Convention relating to the protection of the financial
interests of the European Communities;
(k) has been the subject of a conviction for money laundering, as defined
in Article 1 of Council Directive 91/308/EEC of 10.6.1991 on prevention of
the use of the financial system for the purpose of money laundering.
