Delivery of Refinement of Public Involvement Planning Course

Introduction

The Healthy Environments and Consumer Safety Branch (HECS) piloted its Public Involvement Planning course in 2005. HECS - Executive agreed that the Branch would offer Branch-specific Public Involvement Planning training to Branch staff to enhance individual skills and build overall capacity in the Branch. HECS has successfully delivered the course twice in each subsequent fiscal year, as part of the Branch’s curriculum. The course learning objectives are: that participants will acquire the knowledge, skills and tools to understand the basics of effective public involvement planning, and to determine the need for and level of public involvement; and will know how to use the HECS Public Involvement Plan Template.

Objectives of the Requirement

The successful candidate is required to deliver the HECS Public Involvement Planning course.

In addition, the successful candidate is required, as needed, to make recommendations for refinement of the course, including content and adult learning design/activities or any other relevant aspect, and to contribute to the evaluation of the course, in particular from an international perspective.
