EPC PACKAGE FOR ELECTRO - MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT WORKS

This invitation for prequalification follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared on January 05, 2007 in Development Business on line and in DG Market.

Tehri Hydro Development Corporation Limited has applied for a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) towards the cost of the 444 MW Vishnugad Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project in the state of Uttarakhand , India and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) for Electro - Mechanical equipment works. The scope of work of this EPC Package is as under:

EPC contract covering all Electro - Mechanical Equipment works.

Electro- Mechanical equipment Works:-

i) Electro Mechanical works - Design, manufacture, testing before dispatch, supply, transportation, insurance, storage and preservation, security, erection, testing and commissioning of all Electro-Mechanical equipment and coordination among various suppliers for supply of the items and its erection including but not limited to 04 nos. Generating Units including Francis Turbines each of 111 MW & Generators; Single phase 40 MVA, 420 KV transformers; 400 KV Gas Insulated Switchgear, Computerized control & Monitoring system, Spherical Valves, Butterfly Valves and XLPE Cables etc. on an EPC basis.

ii) Assistance in Successful operation of plant for 6 months.

The Tehri Hydro Development Corporation Limited (THDC) intends to pre-qualify contractors and/or firms for the above EPC package. It is expected that invitations for bid will be made in – Jan’ 2009.
Pre-qualification will be conducted through pre-qualification procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004, Revised October 2006, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries, as defined in the guidelines.

Interested eligible applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the pre-qualification document at the Tehri Hydro Development Corporation Ltd. (THDC). (address given below) from 1000 hrs. to 1600 hrs. (Except Second Saturday, Sunday and holidays).

A complete set of the pre-qualification documents of EPC package in English may be purchased by interested applicants from 14.08.08 to 20.10.08 (except Second Saturday, Sunday and holidays) on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fees of Rs 10,000 Rupees Ten Thousand only) or in US$ 250 (US Dollar Two Hundred and Fifty only) including 10% Trade tax. The method of payment will be in the form of Demand Draft in favour of “Tehri Hydro Development Corporation Limited” payable at New Delhi / Rishikesh, India. (Those who purchased the Pre-qualification documents against the earlier SPN for single EPC turnkey execution of Project on the subject shall be issued documents free of cost at their request. However, the applicants who have been issued pre-qualification document free of cost against SPN for Civil & HM works shall be issued document upon payment of requisite fee).The applicant may collect the document in person or through an authorized agent. If desired, Employer shall dispatch the document(s) by registered mail or courier.

The PQ document will also be displayed on THDC’s website .thdc.gov.in for information of the applicants.
Applications for pre-qualification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address given below by 1400 hrs on 21.10.08- and be clearly marked “Application to Pre-qualify for EPC Package for Electro - Mechanical equipment works for Vishnugad Pipalkoti HE Project”.
